Shaikh College of Engineering and Technology has participated and got appreciation in the National Summit on Quality in Education which is aimed to address the quality in education for the 21st century, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry on 16-17 September 2014. Professor Veeranna.D.K and Professor Sadanand P.Dodamani were participated in the programme. In a session number seven on the second day of the programme the participating school/college were asked to submit a case study with a theme “Data Driven Decision Making in Institution: We Did It”, where the institutes have made use of their available data for decision making and achieved the excellence. Around 16 case studies were received across the India and finally six were short listed for the presentation. Two case studies in the segment of Higher Education from Goa University, Goa and Shaikh College of Engineering and Technology, Belgaum from Karnataka were received. The case study presented in the summit is all about the application of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis in academics to make incremental improvements of the results in the academics. The higher priority is given to the data with highest Risk Priority Number to solve the problem. The management and the Principal Dr.S.C.Kamate congratulated the team on their achievement
Shaikh College of Engineering and Technology has participated and awarded in the state level student project exhibition held in B.V.Bhoomaraddi college of Engg and Tech, Hubli on 28-29 July 2014. The programme was organized jointly by Karnataka State Council for Science and Technology (KSCST) and Karnataka State Bio fuel Development Board (KSBDB), Government of Karnataka.The project entitled “Biomass Gassifier stove using Agricultural waste (crop residue)” designed and fabricated by the student team Vikas Bhavi, Satish Kalakeri, Sadanand Kammar and Shrishail Naragatti under the guidance of Professor Veeranna.D.K of Mechanical Engineering Department of the college. In this project an attempt has been made to solve the energy crises specially for cooking, which uses the agricultural waste as input to produce the heat energy for cooking purpose made to reduce the dependency on the LPG, the rural and agricultural families can develop independency in the area of cooking fuel. The project was mentored by Professor Veeranna.D.K, on the occasion Principal Dr.S.C.Kamate, Chairman Mr.Abu Shaikh and Secretary Mrs.Sabina Abid Ali and staff members congratulated the team
